If you know how to end your book, this can become even harder because when you are writing only you know how much more you are going to have to write before you get to the end. If you don't know how to end your story this becomes, even more, harder because you don't have any sort of projection on finishing your book.
Here is a video that just might help you:
In a previous blog entry, I talked about the importance of outlining your novel to help you with figuring out how you should finish your book. If you didn't read this article you still can right here: "How to Outline Your Book Before Writing it".
Now, if you started your book without outlining it, you can still do this, which just might actually help you if you still don't know how to finish your book.
Now, here is the clincher, let's say you do know how to end your book but it seems so far away from where you currently are in your writing. Hey, I can feel your pain. I have been there myself. The only thing I can tell you is to just keep writing, even if you only write one page a day. At least you will know at the end of one year that you will have completed 365 pages within that time frame. I am sure if you stick with that schedule in mind you will find yourself a lot closer to finishing your book then you realize. If this is your first book that you are writing, trying to write one page every day will be critical because if you skip a day or two, there will be a good chance that you will not finish your book in the end. How do I know this, because statistics show this to be the case? Don't let this happen to you.
In my previous blog article on staying motivated I featured a person opening up a box to find their completed book inside. I stated that this is something that if you have never published a book before will be something to look forward to.
Here is another person experiencing their book for the very first time, and as I stated I hope you'll have a chance to do this one day in the near future. I hope this video will help inspire you in getting your book finished. Every writer should experience this at least once.
In my next blog entry, I am going to talk about how to organize your writing day if you have a full-time job.
So stay tuned!
